We want you to love your dress. If something's not right, we're here to help make it work.

The Basics

Timeline: Contact us within 7 days of receiving your order. Return the item within 15 days of delivery.

  • Condition: Dresses must come back unworn, unwashed, unaltered, and with original tags attached. We can't process returns on items that look like they've been to the wedding.
  • What We Cover: Manufacturing defects, shipping errors, or quality issues. Send us photos and we'll make it right with a replacement, return, or refund.
  • What We Don't Cover: Changed your mind or ordered multiple dresses to "try at home"? Since every dress is made to order, bulk ordering just to keep one creates waste and cost for everyone involved.

Standard Size Returns (US 14 and Under)

Standard-size dresses in picture colors are returnable if unworn and in original condition.

With Quality Issues: Full refund including shipping and rush fees (if applicable). Photos required.

No Quality Issues: 90% refund. We deduct a 10% restocking fee to cover payment processing costs—it's not profit for us, it's what the banks and platforms charge. You're responsible for return shipping costs.

Important: Original shipping and rush fees aren't refundable unless there's a defect.

Plus Size & Custom Orders (US 16+)

Sizes above US 14 and all custom-fit orders are final sale unless there's a manufacturing defect.

Why? These dresses are cut specifically to the measurements provided. Once they're made, they can't be resold. Most mermaid and fitted styles need custom sizing for plus-size bodies anyway—ordering standard sizes often means returns and reorders, wasting your time and money.

Our recommendation: Go custom from the start if your measurements differ by more than 1 inch from standard sizing.

Custom Fit Orders

Custom sizing is free and tailored to your exact measurements (bust, waist, hips, height, hollow-to-floor). Once production starts, these dresses are final sale.

Double-check everything: Confirm your measurements, color, and style within 24 hours of ordering. After that, changes cost extra or can't be made.

Quality issues only: We'll accept returns on custom dresses only if there's a defect or error on our end.

Alterations Reimbursement

Even with careful measurements, you might need minor tweaks. We offer partial reimbursement for local alterations:

  • Dress under $99: Up to $20 reimbursement
  • Dress $100-$199: Up to $30 reimbursement
  • Dress $200+: Up to $40 reimbursement

How it works: Email a photo of your tailor's receipt to service@vowsatin.com within 7 days of delivery. We'll process your reimbursement.

This applies to both standard and custom size dresses. It's normal for slight adjustments—we just can't predict every body perfectly.

What's Not Returnable

These items are final sale, no exceptions:

  • Fabric swatches and measuring tapes
  • Accessories, veils, and shawls
  • Rush fees (unless the item is defective)
  • Custom-fit dresses (unless defective)

How to Return

  1. Email us first: Contact service@vowsatin.com within 7 days of delivery. Include photos and explain the issue. We'll review and approve returns before you ship anything back.
  2. Pack it up: Once approved, return the dress within 15 days to the address we provide (it's different from where your order shipped from). Include your order number, email, and full name in the package.
  3. Get your refund: We'll inspect returns within 3-5 business days. Refunds take 10-15 business days to hit your account depending on your bank.

No Exchanges

We don't offer direct exchanges since everything is made to order. If you need a different size or style, return the original (if eligible) and place a new order. Original discounts won't apply to the replacement order.

Shipping Damage or Loss

If your package arrives damaged or goes missing, contact us within 30 days of the shipping date. After that window, carriers won't cover claims.

Delayed Orders

Weather, carrier issues, or other delays happen. If your dress arrives late, you have two options:

  • Return it for a full refund
  • Or keep it and get 15% back

Cancellations

Dresses are made to order, so once we start cutting fabric, there are real costs involved.

Within 24 hours: Full refund.
24-72 hours: 50% dress refund + full shipping cost back.
72-120 hours: 30% dress refund + full shipping cost back.
Beyond 120 hours: 20% dress refund + full shipping cost back.
Already shipped: No cancellations possible.
